A bust of Kargil war hero Capt Vikram Batra was unveiled by his parents at Palampur Military Station yesterday. His father GL Batra said, "Vikram studied in Palampur Cantt till Class 12 and would come here daily. This is the place where he saw a lot of Armymen and got inspired."

Captain Vikram Batra died fighting Pakistani forces during the Kargil war in 1999 at the age of 24.
