Hours before the Congress party's meeting to decide on its Chief Minister for Himachal Pradesh, one of the frontrunners staked her claim to the top job, reminding Congress chief Sonia Gandhi of her achievement in the state.

"This big responsibility was given by Sonia Gandhi and she told me that she was choosing me as state chief and that I would have to go to all 68 constituencies and win the state. I did that honestly. The result is before us.

"They can't neglect his (Virbhadra Singh) family. We won on his name, face and work. It can't be that you use his name, face and family and give credit to someone else. High Command won't do this," Pratibha Singh, who is the widow of former CM Virbhadra Singh told news agency ANI.

Top Congress leaders will meet with newly elected Congress MLAs at 3 pm in Shimla for the discussions on a Chief Minister.
