PM Narendra Modi speaks outside Parliament as it is set to convene on the 1st day of the Winter Session today.
"In this session, efforts will be made to take important decisions while keeping in mind taking the country to new heights of development and new opportunities to take the country forward amid current global situation. I'm confident that all parties will add value to discussions.

PM urges parties to "understand pain of new MPs", avoid disruptions in parliament ahead of start of winter session.

"When I unofficially met MPs of almost all political parties in past few days, they said that when ruckus takes place in House and it gets adjourned, it affects MPs. Youth MPs say that when proceedings don't go on and discussions aren't held, they get devoid of learning and understanding," Modi said.

"The manner in which India has made a space in global community, the manner in which expectations with India have risen and the manner in which India is increasing its participation on global platform, at a time like this, India receiving theG20 Presidency is a huge opportunity.

"This is important because we met before 15th August. 75 years of Independence was completed on 15th August and we are going ahead in Azadi ka Amrit Kaal. We are meeting at a time when India has received the opportunity to preside over the G20."
