Pakistan's COVID toll crosses 27,000

Pakistan's coronavirus death toll crossed 27,000 on Thursday after another 66 people died in the last 24 hours, according to the official data on Thursday.

 In its daily bulletin, the Ministry of National Health Services said 3,012 new cases were also reported in this period, taking the confirmed cases to 1,215,821 while the death toll touched 27,004. 

 The data showed that another 3,897 patients have recovered and with it the number of people who have completely recovered reached 1,112,236 in the country. 

The latest positivity rate was 5.3 per cent, which was slightly higher than 4.78 per cent of the previous day. The ministry reported that more than 71.3 million doses of vaccines have been administered so far, including 23.24 million fully vaccinated people. PTI
