India records 27,176 new Covid cases

India saw a single day rise of 27,176 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally to 3,33,16,755, while the death toll climbed to 4,43,497 with 284 fresh fatalities, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Wednesday.

Less than 50,000 daily cases have been reported for 80 consecutive days now.

The active cases have declined to 3,51,087 and comprise 1.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.62 per cent, the ministry said.
