Cinema halls to reopen at 50% capacity in Maha

Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar announces that cinema halls can reopen at 50% capacity from today. 

"The theatre owners are demanding to reopen with 100% seating capacity but we have told them to wait till Diwali. After Diwali if situation is under control, then we'll increase the capacity," Pawar said.  

The Maharashtra government had also said eateries and restaurants in the state can stay open till midnight while shops and other establishments are allowed to operate till 11pm in view of the festive season.

At present, restaurants are allowed to operate between 7am and 10pm with 50% of their seating capacity.
