Will abide by Rahul-Priyanka's decision, says Navjot Sidhu

Navjot Singh Sidhu may continue as the president of the Punjab Congress, said All India Congress Committee general secretary and in-charge of the state Harish Rawat. 

An announcement in this regard would be made on Friday said Rawat after a meeting with the cricketer-turned-politician at the party headquarters in Punjab on Thursday. 

"Navjot Sidhu has clearly stated that the decision of the Congress president will be acceptable to him. The instructions are clear that Sidhu should work as Punjab Congress president and  set up organisational structure. An announcement will be made tomorrow (Friday)," said Rawat. 

Sidhu and Punjab chief minister Charanjit Channi spoke on some issues, he said adding a solution would emerge. There are some things that takes time, said Rawat. 

The cricketer-turned-politician said that he would follow the instructions of the party leadership. 

"I expressed my concerns regarding Punjab and Punjab Congress to the party high-command. I've full faith in the Congress president, Priyanka ji and Rahul ji. Whatever decision they'll take, it'll for the betterment of Congress and Punjab. I'll follow their directions," said Sidhu after the meeting.  -- ANI
