MoS Mishra meets Shah amid Lakhimpur row

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni on Wednesday met Home Minister Amit Shah amid charges that his son ran over farmers in UP's Lakhimpur Kheri on Sunday.

Mishra was seen at the Ministry of Home Affairs in the national capital's North Block.

Opposition parties have demanded his resignation in the aftermath of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.

Teni had earlier today clarified that he has not been summoned by the party high command.

He has also maintained that the SUV that ran over the farmers belonged to him but his son was not present in the car.

As many as eight people died in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident on Sunday.
