Mumbai to quarantine South African returnees

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation mayor Kishori Pednekar said on Saturday that every person returning from South Africa will be quarantined on arrival in Mumbai and their samples will be sent for genome sequencing.

The BMC has called a meeting of senior officials at 5:30 pm on Saturday on the new COVID variant, Omicron, identified in South Africa earlier this week. --ANI
