Government advisory committee National Immunisation Technical Advisory Group (NTAGI) has recommended increasing the gap between two doses of Covishield to 12-16 weeks, sources said.

No such change has been recommended for Covaxin dosage interval, they said.

The panel has also recommended that those testing positive for COVID-19 should defer vaccination for six months after recovery.

'Pregnant women may be offered a choice to take any COVID-19 vaccine and lactating women are eligible for jabs at any time after delivery,' the panel has recommended.

More details awaited.    -- PTI
