BMC to increase number of beds at Covid centres

While BMC officials state there is no need to panic, the civic body is preparing for a worst-case scenario.
According to the BMC, there has been an increase in the number of occupancy which saw a jump from February last month, to March this month.
Its been decided to increase 18,000 beds from the current 14,000 in Dedicated COVID Hospitals & Dedicated COVID Health Centres.
Also, beds will be increased from the current 25,000 to 50,000 beds in Covid care centres.
Mumbai city reported 3,514 new cases and eight deaths on Tuesday, taking its cumulative caseload to3,69,451 and death toll to 11,604.
