BJP's Assam manifesto to be released at 10 am

Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda is all set to release party manifesto for the upcoming Legislative Assembly elections in Assam at 10 am.

According to sources, BJPs poll papers will include a promise on implementation of Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, 10 lakh jobs for youth, dedicated tourist circuit for Barack and Brahmaputra areas and direct benefits transfer in women account through Arunodaya scheme. There could be special focus on protecting linguistic identity of Assam and special incentive for the tea garden workers.

Elections for the 126-seat Assam assembly are scheduled to take place in three phases from March 27 to April 6. The results will be announced on May 2.

In 2016, the BJP scripted history and formed the government for the first time in the state ending Congresss 15-year rule.
