Maha's Covid daily tally breaches 11,000 mark

After breaching the 10,000-mark earlier this week, Maharashtra on Sunday logged a new surge as 11,141 fresh Covid-19 infections were reported within 24 hours.

The state, which is one of the top five contributors of Covid-19 in the country, continued to report over 9,000 cases all week promoting authorities to implement additional lockdown curbs in various districts, including Aurangabad.

According to the health bulletin, 6,013 patients were discharged today; 20,68,044 Covid-19 patients discharged after full recovery until today.

The recovery rate in the state is 93.17 per cent, it stated.

Currently, 4,39,055 people are in home quarantine and 4,650 people are in institutional quarantine.

Authorities have announced partial lockdown in Aurangabad from March 11 and full lockdown on weekends. Malls and weekly markets will be shut, weddings and public functions disallowed and restaurants will have to be shut at 9 pm, according to official reports.
