Parl panel to probe Prasad's Twitter block

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who is Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology, on IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad being locked out of his Twitter account. "I can state that we'll be seeking an explanation from Twitter India for locking of RS Prasad's and my accounts and rules and procedures they follow while operating in India."

Twitter on Friday temporarily blocked IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad's account for alleged violation of the US Copyright Act, a move that the minister slammed as being arbitrary and gross violation of IT rules.
