BJP protests Navi Mumbai airport name

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi today told her party general secretaries to step up and urge people to get vaccinated. India has to triple the vaccinations per day to be able to vaccinate 75 per cent of the population.

Meanwhile, a large group of protesters including BJP workers held a demonstration in Navi Mumbai over the name of the international airport being built in the city. Heavy security was deployed at the spot, even as people left Covid safety protocol to the Gods.

The BJP wants the airport to be named after a local politician DB Patil while the ruling Shiv Sena wants it named after the party's founder Bal Thackeray
