Amarnath Yatra cancelled for 2nd year in a row

The 2021 Amarnath Yatra is cancelled due to Covid. Only online aarti will be telecast live for the worshipper. Last year too, the yatra was cancelled amid the raging Covid pandemic.

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board had said that the situation is being constantly monitored.

The 56-day Amarnath Yatra was due to start simultaneously on both routes from June 28 and culminate on Raksha Bandhan, August 22. The annual pilgrimage to Amarnath shrine was discussed at Home Minister Amit Shah's high level meeting on Kashmir on Friday.
