In a setback to the Lok Janshakti Party, five out of six party MPs in the Lok Sabha have revolted against party chief Chirag Paswan and have notified Lok Sabha to identify them separately from the party.

The pack of revolting leaders is led by Pashupati Kumar Paras, who is Chirag Paswan's uncle. Other MPs include Prince Raj (cousin), Chandan Singh, Veena Devi, Mehboob Ali Keshar.

All these leaders are said to have been in a rift with Chirag Paswan since last year's Bihar assembly elections, where the LJP had registered a poor turnout.

According to sources, the five leaders have written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to give them a separate identity from the LJP.

They are also likely to join the ruling JD-U in Bihar, sources said.
