Delhi eases Covid curbs; markets, malls to open

Announcing easing of lockdown in New Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said all shops in markets and malls will be open from tomorrow in Delhi, while restaurants to open with 50 per cent capacity.

"Weekly markets in Delhi to open from tomorrow, only one market to be allowed in each zone," the CM said.

However, he said schools and educational institutions will continue to remain closed in Delhi.

"Covid situation in Delhi under control to larger extent, preparations are on for possible third wave. If spike in Covid cases is observed in next week, restrictions will again be imposed on markets and restaurants," Kejriwal said.

Social, political, cultural gatherings will continue to remain prohibited in Delhi.   -- PTI
