India sees record 6,148 new COVID-19 deaths

India reported less than 1 lakh new COVID-19 cases for a third straight day, as 94,052 infections were detected across the country in the last 24 hours, the Union health ministry's data showed on Thursday .

With this latest single-day rise, India's cumulative COVID-19 infection tally has risen to 29,183,121, the data showed.

The country also witnessed highest one-day fatalities with 6,148 deaths reported in last 24 hours.
