It's chai pe charcha for Sidhu, Amarinder

Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and CM Captain Amarinder Singh have arrived at Punjab Bhawan separately. The CM has invited Congress MLAs, MPs and senior functionaries from the state for tea. They'll go to Punjab Congress Bhawan for the formal appointment ceremony of the new Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee team headed by Sidhu.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Sunday appointed Sidhu as the new chief of the party's Punjab unit, despite strong opposition from Amarinder Singh.

CM Capt Amarinder Singh arrived at Punjab Bhawan shortly after newly appointed Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu arrived there. Sidhu briefly left from the Bhawan 10 minutes after the arrival of the CM and later rejoined the gathering there. Media was not allowed inside.
