R-Day violence: Delhi police presser at 4 pm

Update on the R-Day violence: "Delhi Police will hold a press briefing at 4 pm today and all questions regarding the violence during farmers' tractor rally yesterday will be answered. We never said that there is no more scope for discussion with farmers," Union Minister Prakash Javadekar says.

The Culture & Tourism Minister said that he inspected the Red Fort with officers of Culture Ministry & Archaeological Survey of India today. "I gave 2 directions -- report be made at the earliest & handed over to MHA and FIR be registered immediately. Things will be further clarified after report comes."

Samyukt Kisan Morcha said that most of farmer organisations who are part of the ongoing farmers' agitation today held a meeting under chairmanship of Balbir Singh Rajewal. "Sincere appreciation was conveyed to struggling farmers for extending an unprecedented response to Kisan Republic Day Parade."

An FIR by Delhi Police mentions the names of farmer leaders Darshan Pal, Rajinder Singh, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Buta Singh Burjgil & Joginder Singh Ugraha for breach of NOC issued regarding farmers' tractor rally. FIR also mentions the name of BKU spox Rakesh Tikait, the Delhi Police said.
