UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is calling the inauguration of US President Biden and Vice President Harris a "step forward" for the United States which has "been through a bumpy period".

Congratulating the newly sworn in leaders, Johnson said it was a "big moment" for the UK and the US who have a "joint common agenda".

In the run up to the UN Climate Change Conference, he said the UK hopes to work with the US on climate change, among other issues.

In recent years, Johnson was sometimes criticised in the UK for being too close to Trump.
