BJPs Rakesh Singh in police custody till March 1 in drugs case

BJP leader Rakesh Singh, who was arrested by the police on Tuesday night, has been sent to police custody by the Alipore court in Kolkata till March 1, in connection with a narcotics case involving BJP's youth leader Pamela Goswami.

Rakesh Singh was arrested from Galsi in Purba Bardhaman district, about 130 km from Kolkata, on Tuesday night. His two sons were arrested by the narcotics section of the Kolkata police on charges of obstructing and stopping its personnel from entering the residence of the BJP state committee member in the port area of the city, he said. 

Singh was arrested at a naka point on the national highway at Galsi by the district police after being alerted by the Kolkata police.
