Key accused in R-Day violence arrested in Delhi

A team of the Delhi Police's Special Cell arrested a man, identified as Maninder Singh alias Moni, in connection with the violence at the Red Fort on Republic Day.

Maninder Singh alias Moni is one of the main accused in violence that was unleashed in Delhi on Republic Day during a tractor rally organised by farmer unions protesting against the three farm laws, Delhi Police officials said on Wednesday.

Maninder Singh alias Moni, 30, is a resident of Swaroop Nagar in Delhi and was held near the bus stop in Pitampura. Following his arrest, Delhi Police also recovered two swords from Maninder Singhs house in Swaroop Nagar.

As per Delhi Police officials, accused Maninder Singh was seen in a video swinging two swords at Red Fort on January 26.
