Need time to heal: Assam CM on Mizoram dispute

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on the promise of peace with neighbouring state Mizoram. 

"With Mizoram, you need a span of peace because after such a heavy engagement you need some time to heal all the pain. After that, you need to start some confidence-building measures from both sides and then talk about some final resolutions.

"I think both the governments (Assam and Mizoram) are now talking and definitely, both sides will work for peace and tranquility." 

 Sarma on Monday said there cannot be an overnight resolution of the decades-old border dispute between the states as it is a very complex issue.

Noting that the border disputes go back to the British era, Sarma in an interview to PTI said Assam has been holding talks with other states too and faulted the previous Congress governments for not clearly demarcating
