Bihar runs short of crematoriums. The Centre meanwhile, continues to focus on the Bengal elections with Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah visiting Tehatta in Nadia district. Shah had earlier claimed that the Maharashtra government was lying about a shortage of Covid vaccinations.

Rajkumar, in charge of the Patna Nagar Nigam crematorium says, "Around 10-12 bodies including 6-7 COVID-19 bodies have been brought here today. Today, the number of bodies brought here is less as compared to other days. We have been working for nearly 24 hours."

District Magistrate, Patna, says, "We have written to Patna Municipal Corporation to repair and make functional all the electric crematoriums which are not working. Three ghats including one in Patna City marked for the cremation of bodies to avoid the rush at one ghat."
