Govt has 'Nil' data on farmers' suicides: NCRB

The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) compiles prison statistics reported to it by States and Union Territories and publishes the same in its annual report 'Prison Statistics India'.

MoS Home G Kishan Reddy in a written reply tells the Rajya Sabha: "The latest published report is of the year 2019."

Following  the Supreme Court order dated 13th April, 350 detenues lodged in different Detention Centres of Assam have been released on bail. 15 detenues have died due to illness during the last two years till 16th September.

Mos MHA Nityanand Rai in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, says, "During the last 5 years under NSA, no case has been registered in Delhi. There is no proposal under consideration of the Government to repeal the National Security Act.

"13 incidents of thefts and other crimes took place in MPs flats/bungalows in New Delhi between 1st Jan 2020 to 31st July 2020. 

"Delhi Police has taken concrete measures to control crime.

"As informed by National Crime Records Bureau, many States/UTs had reported 'Nil' data on suicides by farmers/cultivators and agricultural labourers, even while reporting suicides in other professions."

MoS Home G Kishan Reddy in a written reply in Rajya Sabha, says, "2120 Pakistan nationals, 188 Afghanistan nationals and 99 Bangladesh nationals were granted Indian citizenship in the last three years."
