Covid recoveries not due to Bhabiji ke papad: Sena

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on the Covid situation in the country, tells the Rajya Sabha, "My mother and my brother are infected with Covid. Many people in Maharashtra are recovering also. Today, the situation in Dharavi is under control. WHO has appreciated the efforts of the BMC. I want to state these facts as some members here were criticising the Maharashtra govt yesterday," Raut said.

He added, "I want to ask the members how did so many people recover? Kya log bhabhi ji ke papad kha karke theek ho gaye? This isn't a political fight but a fight to save the lives of people," the Shiv Sena MP said during a discussion on the statement made by the health minister on COVID-19.

In late July, a video of Arjun Ram Meghwal, a junior Union minister for heavy industries and parliamentary affairs and BJPs member of parliament from Bikaner, had gone viral on social media for claiming a brand of papad had a cure for coronavirus.

In the viral video, he claimed that Bhabhiji Papad contained ingredients that helped develop antibodies against the virus. Two weeks after making this ludicrous claim, the minister has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.
