My grandmother introduced me to Valmikis teachings: Priyanka's tribute

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today posted an Instagram tribute to her grandmother, former prime minister Indira Gandhi who was martyred this day in 1984. The day also happens to be the birth anniversary of Saint Valmiki, the renowned author of Ramayan.

'Today is the birth anniversary of Valmiki, the author of Ramayan,' Priyanka wrote in Hindi, 'It is also the day of my grandmother's martyrdom.'

'She introduced me to the teachings of Valmiki, which have enabled me to raise my voice for the underprivileged and to fight for their rights.'
