Onion thieves make farmer cry

Pune Rural police arrested four people for stealing 58 bags of onions worth Rs 2.35 lakhs from a farmer on October 21. The accused had broken the lock of barracks where onions were kept. Our police say, "49 bags worth Rs 2 lakhs recovered while rest of the bags were sold."

Wholesale onion prices at Lasalgaon, Maharashtra, Asia's largest wholesale market were Rs 51 per kilo over the weekend.
