Prabhu Chawla is heading back to the India Today group, which he quit 10 years ago to join the New Indian Express

Chawla, who began his journalistic career with the Aroon Purie-helmed publication, rose to become group editorial director and editor (languages) with India Today, before moving on as editorial director of the New Indian Express and Sunday Standard in 2010.

His new assignment as editorial consultant with the TV Today Network begins on December 1.

Welcoming Chawla back, Kalli Purie, vice chairperson, India Today group, said, "I am looking forward to seeing his no-holds-barred style and working with a much valued colleague."

According to Purie, Prabhu, who was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2003, will once again be seen weekly on Aaj Tak, interviewing the most prominent personalities of the nation. He will also lend his expertise to political debates on Aaj Tak as and when required.
