The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation is arranging buses for migrant workers and others who are stuck at state's border with Delhi, while walking back home after a 21-day lockdown was announced.

In Statement, UPSRTC managing director Raj Shekhar said, 'On the directions of the government of Uttar Pradesh, the UPSRTC is deploying buses to provide transport facilities to people stuck at various points at border district of Delhi.

'The buses have started reaching Noida and Ghaziabad. Around 200 buses will depart every two hours. A few buses that have already left Gaziabad, Noida and bordering areas are on the way to various destinations in UP.'

He further said, 'UPSRTC requests all DMs/SSPs/SPs to inform all their border check points not to stop these buses en route.'

The MD informed that the exercise of carrying people to their homes in UP will be taken up today and tomorrow.

The UPSRTC has also requested district administrations to arrange for screening of these passengers when they arrive and record their details for 'further monitoring'.
