28 confirmed cases of nCoV in India: Govt

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan says India has 28 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, which includes 16 Italian tourists. "We have requested all hospitals in Delhi to develop good quality isolation wards in order to stay prepared if more cases of CoronaVirus are suspected in the national capital.

The positive cases are: 1 in Delhi, 6 in Agra, 16 Italians and Indian driver, 1 in Telangana and 3 in Kerala.

The Italian nationals have been sent to at Indo-Tibetan Border Police's quarantine facility in Chhawla.


There are six 6 coronavirus cases in Agra and the patients are relatives of a Delhi-based man who tested positive for the disease, the minister said. 


"On conducting contact tracing of a person who tested positive in Delhi, we came to know that he infected six members of his family who are in Agra. All 6 members tested positive for CoronaVirus.


Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PK Mishra to take a meeting at 12.30 pm today to review preparedness for dealing with Coronavirus situation in the country.


"If the Iran Govt supports our efforts, then we have an intention to establish a test lab there as well. This will let us bring back our citizens from Iran after a thorough screening," he said.
