India's COVID-19 tally crosses 9 lakh mark

India's COVID-19 tally on Tuesday crossed 9 lakh mark with 28,498 new cases, the Union health ministry data shows.

The total coronavirus caseload in the country surged to 9,06,752 while the death toll climbed to 23,727 with 553 people succumbing to the disease in 24 hours, the updated data at 8 am showed.

According to ministry data on Saturday, the number of recoveries stands at 5,71,460 while there are 3,11,565 active cases.

The total number of confirmed cases include foreigners.
