Watching a person die is nothing like they show you in the movies

'The man is sprawled out on an ambulance gurney. He is 33 years old, and about to die. He is rushed to the resuscitation bay. IV access is secured. The ER team feverishly prepares to intubate. A procedure that is all about getting control, threatens to spiral into chaos. Functioning in PPE suits is not easy- it's hot, and restrictive. Sweat pours down your face and into your eyes. Vision is blurred. Nothing that you have ever trained for prepares you for this. Meanwhile the patient is rapidly entering his final moments.'
