Unlike his predecessor Sushma Swaraj, who was easily one of India's most Twitter-friendly ministers , External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar is more conservative in his tweets, which are anyway few and far between.

There is no banter with his following and  tweets are strictly impersonal.

Except for this one.

Dr Jaishankar tweeted today to say, "43 years today since I first entered South Block. Time flies, world changes, bonds are stronger. Journey continues."

South Block houses the offices of the External Affairs ministry.

Dr Jaishankar joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1977 and during his diplomatic career spanning over 38 years, he served in different capacities in India and abroad including as a High Commissioner to Singapore (2007-09) and as Ambassador to the Czech Republic (2001-04), China (2009-2013) and the USA (2014-2015). Jaishankar played a key role in negotiating the Indo-US civilian nuclear agreement.

Here's to the journey continuing...
