Read our interview with the family of Captain Vikram Batra, the soldier who fought valiantly and sacrificed his life during the Kargil War in 1999. It was due to his efforts that the Indian flag was unfurled on Tiger Hill on July 4, 1999 morning and India's Operation Vijay was successful. He sacrificed his life for his nation and was posthumously given the highest wartime gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra.
