Group Captain A Rathi, senior fighter pilot at a Forward Air Base near India-China border told ANI, "Night operations have an inherent element of surprise. IAF is fully trained and ready to undertake the entire spectrum of ops in any environment with help of modern platforms and motivated personnel.
IAF also deployed Chinook heavylift helicopters at the forward airbase during the night operations.

A day before Chinese military began pulling back from Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi agreed on an expeditious withdrawal of troops, holding that a complete disengagement at the "earliest" was necessary for full restoration of peace in border areas and both sides should not allow differences to become disputes.
