'The BMC is all set to increase the number of COVID tests being conducted in the city per day. And to serve this purpose, BMC has decided that now no prescription will be required to get a coronavirus test. BMC on July 7 said that now based on the symptoms, people can approach labs and ask for a coronavirus test without any doctor's prescription. BMC will also issue an official order stating the same by the afternoon of July 7. And once the order is out, the same will be conveyed to the labs in the city,' reports Santia Gora in timesnownews.com.

'Recently, a warning was issued by the central government in which the Government said that it has noticed that some states and Union Territories are not fully using their COVID testing capacity, especially private labs are not fully used by these states and UTs. Centre warned the states and UTs to optimise their testing capacity. Since then, BMC is making efforts to increase the number of tests being done in the city,' she reports, here.
