PM Modi quits Chinese app WeiboJuly 01, 2020 17:23
As soon as the decision was taken to disallow 59 Chinese apps in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now quit the Chinese social media app, Weibo, he had joined a few years ago, ANI reports.
For VIP accounts, Weibo has a more complex procedure to quit which is why the official process was initiated. For reasons best known to the Chinese, there was great delay in granting this basic permission, sources told ANI.
The PM had 115 posts on Weibo. As the Chinese government dithered on the deactivation request by the Indian government, it was decided to manually delete the posts.
