Saddened to see them escaping gallows: Kejriwal

It saddens me that convicts in Nirbhaya case are escaping death sentence by using legal loopholes, says Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

He said that there's a dire need to amend laws, so that hanging takes place within six months in rape cases.

A Delhi court on Friday stayed the death warrant of the four convicts in the gang rape and murder of the 23-year-old woman on a plea seeking deferment of the hanging on the grounds that the convicts are yet to exhaust their legal remedies.
