BJP MP Parvesh Verma begins this day with this sorry statement on the CAA protests at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh. "...Lakhs of people gather there (Shaheen Bagh). People of Delhi will have to think and take a decision. They'll enter your houses, rape your sisters and daughters, kill them. There's time today, Modi ji and Amit Shah won't come to save you tomorrow..."

This comes even as the Election Commission has taken note and sought a report over a clip of Union minister Anurag Thakur purportedly leading a crowd in a chant of 'shoot the traitors' 'Gaddaron ko goli maro' at a BJP rally surfaced on social media.

The video, reportedly taken at a rally in the National Capital, purportedly shows Thakur, the Minister of State for Finance, exhorting the crowd to chant 'shoot the traitors', a slogan that has frequently been used to denigrate anti-Citizenship Amendment Act protesters and which was also reportedly heard during the 5 January attack on teachers and students at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) campus in New Delhi.
