Union minster Anurag Thakur has been served a show cause notice by the Election Commission for his controversial remark.

Thakur on Monday led the audience of an election meeting in Rithala, Delhi on a chant that said traitors would be shot -- "Desh ke gaddaron ko; goli maro sa**n ko" -- although he himself didnt utter the second part of the slogan.

The Delhi CEO Office on Tuesday submitted reports to the EC on "provocative" language used by Thakur while canvassing for party candidates contesting the Delhi assembly polls, officials said.
