JNU violence: Two suspects to be questioned today

JNU violence: Chunchun Kumar and Dolan Samanta, who were named as suspects by the Delhi Police in the violence at JNU on January 5, have been called for questioning in connection. A FSL team will also be at JNU today. Efforts are being made to trace Akshat Awasthi, Rohit Shah and Komal Sharma, who are also suspects in the violence unleashed on the campus that left several injured. 


Thirty-seven people from the 60-member WhatsApp group named 'Unity Against Left' have been identified by the Special Investigation Team of the Delhi police.

According to the police, the group was created against the Left parties on January 5, the day when violence broke out in Jawaharlal Nehru University campus.

The Delhi Police Crime Branch investigating the case of violence in JNU had identified and released photographs of nine suspects, including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh.

"Those identified include - Chunchun Kumar, Pankaj Mishra, Aishe Ghosh, Waskar Vijay, Sucheta Talukraj, Priya Ranjan, Dolan Sawant, Yogendra Bhardwaj, Vikas Patel," DCP Joy Tirkey, who is heading the SIT said.
