Noted cricket scribe Raju Bharatan dies

Raju Bharatan -- the legendary writer on Hindi film music and cricket -- sadly passed into the ages today. Though its then editor Khushwant Singh cornered the glory, it was Mr Bharatan's stewardship of a special cricket issue of the Illustrated Weekly Of India that sold over 400,000 copies -- then and now, a record for an Indian magazine.  Mr Bharatan was knowledgeable and prolific, and wrote with felicity on both cricket and Hindi film music for over 65 years.
