Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday said that the central government is ready to talk to Shaheen Bagh protesters who are camping at Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh stretch against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the proposed National Register of Citizens.

"Government is ready to talk to protesters of Shaheen Bagh but then it should be in a structured form and the Narendra Modi government is ready to communicate with them and clear all their doubts they have against CAA," the Union law minister tweeted.

In Delhi, thousands of people, including women and children, have been protesting since December 15 at Shaheen Bagh and nearby Jamia Millia Islamia against the CAA and the NRC.

The protesters have been demanding repeal of the CAA.
