Amit Shah recovers, likely to be discharged soon

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is admitted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, has recovered and is likely to be discharged shortly.

In a statement, AIIMS said, "Amit Shah is admitted at AIIMS, New Delhi for post Covid care. He has recovered and is likely to be discharged in a short time."

Amit Shah was admitted at AIIMS on August 18 after for post-Covid care following suggestions from doctors.

At AIIMS, Amit Shah was under observation and a team of doctors led by AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria was monitoring his condition.

In it medical bulletin on August 18, AIIMS has said Amit Shah has been complaining of fatigue and body aches for the past three-four days. "He is comfortable and continuing his work from hospital," AIIMS had said.

The Union minister tested positive for Covid-19 on August 2 and was admitted to a private hospital in Gurgaon. A team of doctors from AIIMS, New Delhi was also monitoring his health updates.

Amit Shah was the first Union cabinet minister to test positive for coronavirus. Since then, four other Union ministers have tested positive in India with Ayush minister Shripad Naik being the latest.
