India registers spike of over 68,000 Covid cases

India reported a spike of 68,898 coronavirus infections on Friday, data from the health ministry showed.

Deaths rose by 983 to a total of 54,849 in India. The total coronavirus case tally in India now stands at 29,05,823. As per the data, 21,58,947 people have been cured/discharged.

Meanwhile, global coronavirus cases now stand at 22,256,220 confirmed cases, including 782,456 deaths, reported to WHO.
