The pilots of the ill-fated Air India Express Flight No IX 1344 from Dubai to Kozhikode has been identified as

Captain Deepak Vasant Sathe and First Officer Akhilesh Kumar.

Captain Sathe was a former Indian Air Force Test pilot. He was commissioned into service in 1981 and served in the

force for 22 years.

According to his colleagues, he was a wonderful pilot and a great human being.
