ASHA worker in Haridwar manhandled, FIR filed

An ASHA worker was manhandled when she went to collect data at Haridwar. "We had gone for a COVID19 survey. We had collected the data of all families. When we went to the last house, they told us to strike off all names. One woman took our register tore the pages. We received some injuries," says Anita, the ASHA worker 

The police have registered a case. "A medical team which went to Makhanpur village in Haridwar district yesterday was manhandled while carrying out a survey for COVID19," the SSP said. An FIR has been registered and one person has been arrested. A search is on for absconders. Action will be taken under the Epidemic Diseases (Amendment)Ordinance 2020.
